Effective Prayer Life

Where Nothing is Too Hard for the Lord!

How to have an effective prayer life

Develop a relationship with God and get to know who He is.  How do we get to know Him?  We get to know him through the study of God's word.  We must have a desire to know him intimately.  2 Timothy 2:15 says, Study to show thyself approve unto God, a workman that needed not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word truth.

If we do not know the ways of God, our effectiveness in prayer is limited.  We need to know the greatness of God and how he moved for the patriots of old.  God declares he is the same yesterday, today and forever.  We should be aggressive in our prayer life, pulling down the evil forces of the enemy.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

We must learn to win the battle in the spirit and then we will see the mighty power of God.  Let's use the prophet Elijah as our example.  Elijah was a man who knew the power of prayer.  He closed and opened up the heavens through prayer.  Elijah had a relationship with God and he knew the law.  He stood before King Ahab and said, "As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, surely there shall be neither dew nor rain for three years except by my words.  Elijah stood on the word in prayer and when the people repented, he prayed for rain and it rained.

If you would like to be a part of this prayer army or have a prayer request you would like upheld before the Lord, you may contact us at voices@voices-of-victory.com.  Remember, God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.  God bless and keep you!
