Pray, Persevere and Praise Hebrew 10:35 "So do not throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded." You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of the God you will receive what he has promised. God is always faithful to answer our prayers. He promised in his words that he would hear us when we pray and not only hear us but he will give us the desires of our hearts. The pressure is on, you have prayed the prayer of faith. You believe you have received the answer. You are confessing the word and you are expecting a miracle. But instead of things getting better, things seem to get worse. Symptoms and circumstances pile up around you and every time you turn around some demon is whining in your ear: Why don’t you just give up? God has forgotten about you, or if God loves you so much why is he allowing you to suffer so much? Before you know it, the enemy has caused you to become distracted and lose your focus and think about how tired you have become of waiting on the answer to come. You are about to say two words that have caused many Christians their victory: I quit! Everyone who has ever experienced a decisive victory has experienced tough times. Times when you just feel like you can’t take it anymore. If you have experienced these feelings, then the devil has used them to put pressure on you. I want to share a force that is so powerful that that it will carry you through those hard times in triumph. It is a force that is so dynamic that the devil cannot stop it. It is a force that comes from the power of God. Patience is the powerful force that I am speaking of. Patience is the overcoming force that keeps us going in situations that would stop us cold. Patience will see you through from the time you pray and release your faith until the time you receive the manifestation of the promise. Patience will take you through from the moment you believe and confess the promise. Patience is the force that keeps you from fainting under pressure. We must develop a lifestyle of praise through tough times as well as good times. Praise confuses the devil and preserves our sanity. It is impossible to praise and be depressed at the same time. Isaiah says “Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.” We must learn to praise in the midst of the storm. The Lord told Jehoshaphat, "You shall not need to fight in this battle, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." Jehoshaphat sent the praise singers out and as they began to sing praises unto the Lord and the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab, and the men who were invading Judah were defeated. We must learn how to sing the Lord song in a foreign land. David said “I will bless the Lord at all times and his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Intensify your praise when you are challenged because God is faithful and he is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we can ask or think. He is the same unchanging God today that he was on yesterday and he is always ready to show himself strong to his people. We must be willing to pray, persevere and praise.
